Bokarina Beach

The Sunshine Coast is known for its beaches. People the world over, have heard of our local surfing spots.
The popularity of our local area grew as a place to setup roots and raise families. Our vast expanses of coastline were the first to go, with prices fetching well into the millions to live within a stones throw of our greatest asset.
Noosa, Sunrise Beach, Peregian, Coolum, Yaroomba, Marcoola, Maroochydore, Alexandra Headlands, Mooloolaba, Minyama, Kawana, Currimundi and Caloundra just to name a few, were all snapped up by locals, interstates and internationals looking for a sea-change.
All, but one fenced off location.
Well known, and located somewhere between Warana and Wurtulla, coast locals from the 70’s and early 80’s lovingly referred to the fenced off spot as Shangri-la, a fictional place described in the 1933 novel, Lost Horizon by James Hilton. A mystical, harmonious valley where everyone took their clothes off. And it was. The Mystical part, at least.
If you look into the history of the Sunshine Coast, you will find that Battery Hill in Caloundra was named so, because of it’s purpose within the military. Weapons were tested from there, to an expanse of unused swampland along the Nicklin Way.

Long standing Sunshine Coast Builders, like Rick Burns from PJ Burns Builder, will tell stories of digging up all sorts of military fragments and unexploded shells, some locals speculating this is the reason for the unlikely, construction-less mirage.
Fast forward to 2018, and all of that is about to change. That unused swampland is set to be home to ‘Bokarina Beach’, Stockland’s exciting new masterplanned community, with an urban heart and a coastal soul. Where you can experience a vibrant new way of coastal living, with boutique shopping and dining, open green spaces and a village park, public plaza and a lake surrounded by walking trails and parkland with connectivity to Lake Kawana.
